James joined the board of Mullivres Prowler in December 2014, following a management buy out of founder and Non-Executive Chair Chris Graham-Bell.
James is a digital marketing expert, with over 15 years experience in new media. He is a true entrepreneur with a track record of building successful businesses. He founded Coast Digital in 2002 and has skilfully developed the business to become one of the UK’s leading digital marketing agencies. Coast Digital has twice been included in the Sunday Times Fast Track, (a list of the fastest growing privately owned technology companies in the UK), and has previously been ranked by New Media Age as one of the UK’s Top 100 Interactive Agencies.
James repeated this success in 2005 with the launch of, which quickly grew to become the UK’s largest independent online credit card introducer, and finalist for the online business of the year awards 2007. In June 2008, was sold to for an undisclosed sum.
James is a prolific investor in start up and early stage businesses, and has to date built a portfolio of around 20 investments including Future Ad Labs, Cloudtags, Seedrs, Maily and Shareight.
James began his career in media over 20 years ago at the Essex Chronicle, part of the Northcliffe Newspaper Group. During this time he held several positions including Classified Advertising Manager for the Brentwood Gazette.
After a successful career in IT sales he moved into a consultancy role and was responsible for the design and project management of an award-winning e-commerce implementation for a large IT systems integrator. The system is still used today and has spearheaded the growth and eventual sale of the business to British Telecom plc.
In 2009 James was invited to join Courvoisier The Future 500, a list published in association with the Sunday Observer which recognises individuals who have achieved significant success in their field.
A clear strategic thinker, James relishes the challenge of building businesses. He enjoys mentoring young people and advising early stage entrepreneurs.
James is a personal donor to a number of causes. The causes he supports include the construction of and annual funding of a school in Thailand, where James has a home. He also part funds a home for children in Kenya who had previously been living on rubbish tips.
